BANGKOK, 8 September 2020: Dusit International will begin rolling out its new ASAI Hotels brand this month with the opening of ASAI Bangkok Chinatown in the heart of the city’s renowned Chinatown district.
Six other properties will follow the 15 September opening of ASAI Chinatown as the Dusit’s sixth hotel brand takes shape.
ASAI is Dusit’s foray into the affordable lifestyle segment supplementing the core brands of Dusit Thani, dusitD2, Dusit Princess, Dusit Devarana, and Elite Havens.
Starting this September, the brand will initially serve domestic travellers due to the strict Covid-19 restrictions that prevent the reopening of leisure travel to Thailand.
Another ASAI hotel will open within 12 months in Bangkok’s Sathorn district, followed by three ASAI Hotels in Cebu, the Philippines; one ASAI hotel in the old Yankin area of Yangon, Myanmar; and one ASAI hotel in Kyoto, Japan.
ASAI Bangkok Chinatown features 224 compact rooms (ranging from 18 – 26 sqm). Located adjacent to Yaowarat Road, only 100 metres from Wat Mangkon MRT underground station, the hotel is close to the historic temples and traditional shophouses, that make up the Rattanakosin Island area, home to the Grand Palace and Wat Pho.
