SINGAPORE, 30 November 2020: Royal Brunei Airlines has won the World’s Leading Cabin Crew 2020 category at the 27th annual World Travel Awards (WTA) held virtually in Moscow 27 November.
The prestigious title was awarded to the national airline of Brunei Darussalam gained the highest vote response in the worldwide poll of passengers, travellers and travel professionals.
It comes just a month after the airline was awarded the Leading Cabin Crew honour in the WTA Asia Awards.
The prestigious accolade was awarded to RB from a field of 17 airlines competing for the title, including the world’s leading airlines.
Two years ago RB conducted the biggest cabin crew recruitment campaign since its launch in 1974, taking on 60 Bruneian nationals, following a significant expansion of its flight network. Today the airline employs 365 cabin crew.
World Travel Awards were established in 1993 and are regarded globally as the benchmark of industry excellence across all sectors of travel, tourism and hospitality.
Royal Brunei chief executive officer, Karam Chand said: “The award of the World’s Leading Cabin Crew and Asia’s Leading Cabin Crew by the prestigious World Travel Awards is well earned and a reflection of our service strategy to establish RB as a well-respected global brand.
Royal Brunei Airlines currently operates a fleet of 14 aircraft comprising five Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners, seven Airbus A320NEOs and two Airbus A320CEOs – making their fleet one of the youngest in the world. The airline celebrated its 46th anniversary this year.
