JAKARTA 4 January 2021: Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (MoTCE) has introduced safe Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE) protocols in Bali.
Namely #InDOnesiaCare, prioritises safe travel procedures for Bali’s visitors, as the island prepared to reintroduce international flights.
The new protocols signify the government’s effort to revitalise its tourism and local economy, as Bali see a 50% increase in flights, according to the state-owned airport operator, PT Angkasa Pura I.
“These protocols ensure a smooth travel experience while prioritising the health and safety for all domestic and global visitors who are coming to Bali. We believe that the tourism and creative economy sector can return to productivity, but most importantly remain safe from Covid-19.” said MoTCE director of communication Agustini Rahayu.
The new protocols include regular disinfectant procedures, safe physical distancing, and temperature checking at every relevant venue. Before entering Bali, visitors are required to present a negative swab test result and provide the QR-code to be verified by the Ministry of Health officer at immigration stations. The QR-code can be retrieved by filling the Electronic Health Card Application Form on eHAC Indonesia Electronic Health Card app.
The CHSE protocols also maximise various digital and online services to minimise direct contact all the way to the airport exit. Pick up and transfer services are also in line with the new standard of operation, which include mandatory masks and sanitisers in all transport services.
The comprehensive health protocols also continue when visitors arrive at their place of stay. All baggage will be disinfected on arrival, while the check-in process will be done with minimal contact, utilising digital technology where possible.
“Every place, destination, or any tourism businesses that have passed the CHSE’s assessment will earn an officially certified sign of #InDOnesiaCare. Meaning the place complies to the new protocols so people can travel safely in Bali. All this was put in place, so everyone involved – both tourists and people working in the industry, can feel safe whilst enjoying the beauty a thriving Bali has to offer.” Agustini added.
