KOTA KINABALU, 6 May 2021: Sabah Tourism Board will continue representation on the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), this time at the top board level, for another two-year term from 2021 to 2023.
Sabah Tourism Board general manager Noredah Othman is the newly elected PATA Executive Board member. She brings with her almost 30 years of experience in the tourism industry.
The other candidate to join the Executive Board for the next two years to April 2023 is the Maldives’ Minister of Tourism, Dr Abdulla Mausoom.
In 2019, Othman was appointed for a two-year term (2019 – 2021) to the PATA Board during the PATA Board meeting in Kazakhstan, September 2019. It acts as an advisory body to the Executive Board.
Her latest appointment to the Executive Board (2021 – 2023) reaffirms the significance of Sabah as an established tourism destination in the region.
Founded in 1951, PATA is a not-for-profit association recognised for acting as a catalyst that spurs responsible development of travel and tourism to and within the Asia Pacific region.
