BANGKOK, 16 June 2201: Skål International Thailand that oversees six clubs in the country, launched its new webinar series Skål Talks Thailand – ‘Recovery Strategies 2021.
The series kicked off with a presentation, ‘Samui – Primed for Reopening’.
Guest speaker Jo Poolsawadee, who is president of the Tourism Association of Koh Samui (TAKS), presented the case for reopening Thailand’s second-largest island to international tourism following the launch of the Phuket ‘Sandbox’ scheme set for 1 July 1 but still to be confirmed.
The TAKS president is involved in lobbying for the reopening of Samui to international tourism with the Thailand Hotels Association, Tourism Association of Thailand and SKÅL. He hopes to win approval ‘Sealed and Secure Route’ initiative, which was first submitted to the Thai Government last March.
