BANGKOK, 2 August 2021: Bangkok Airways suspends flights between Samui and Phuket effective 3 August 2021 until further notice to comply with the latest order from the Phuket provincial authorities.
Phuket is locking down all transport land, air and sea to prevent an increase in Covid-19 blamed on domestic travellers entering the island mainly from deep red provinces that includes Bangkok. Essential transport of goods and medical supplies will continue, but for all intents and purposes, Phuket’s door is now shut to domestic visitors.
Bangkok Airways said its two flights daily on the sealed route from Suvarnabhumi Airport, and Samu island will continue to support the Samui Plus project.
Additionally, the planned Samui – Singapore route starts today, 2 August, with three flights weekly (Monday, Thursday and Sunday) to support the Samui Plus Model project. So far, only 93 international visitors have travelled to Samui since the project started on 15 July.
Passengers impacted by the airline’s suspension of the Samui -Phuket service can obtain a travel voucher to be used for future travel, or they can apply for a refund.
Passengers who booked their tickets through travel agencies should contact their agent.
