Always a popular draw for aviation enthusiasts and trade visitors, Emirates’ latest generation Airbus A380 is decorated with the ‘United Arab Emirates 50’ livery, celebrating the Golden jubilee of the nation.

Emirates Airline & Group’s chairman and chief executive, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said: “The Dubai Airshow has long been one of the most important events in the aviation and aerospace calendar. This year, all eyes will be on Dubai as the industry bounces back with global aviation and aerospace players reconvening in-person to forge new partnerships and engage in strategic dialogue. The event will be seen as a bellwether for the industry’s pace of recovery and a showcase for technologies that will drive its future progress. As a leading player in commercial aviation, Emirates will be setting the stage with its latest products and services on display, and engaging with its partners on various activities at the show. “

The Emirates A380 Premium Economy cabin offers 56 seats in a 2-4-2 cabin layout. Each seat has a generous pitch of up to 40-inches, is 19.5 inches wide, and comfortably reclines 8 inches with ample room to stretch out. Seats are furnished with cream-coloured leather and include fine stitching and a wood panel finishing similar to business class. Each seat is designed to provide maximum comfort, supported with 6-way adjustable headrests, calf rests and footrests. For entertainment, each seat has a 13.3″ screen, one of the largest in its class, for customers to enjoy Emirates’ award-winning ice. Seats also include easily accessible in-seat charging points, a wide dining table and side cocktail table. Emirates Premium Economy is located at the front of the main deck, with 3 lavatories dedicated to customers.

Emirates opened the flying display on the first afternoon of the airshow with a special flypast comprising of an Airbus A380 and the Boeing 777 adorned with the special 50th livery and Expo 2020 Dubai liveries, joined by partner UAE commercial airlines, and followed by the UAE’s air-display team, Al Fursan.

The Emirates exhibition stand is open to all airshow visitors and also exhibits the airline’s game-changing Boeing 777-300ER first class private suite, business class and premium economy class seat.

The airline also recently announced a partnership to entirely repurpose its first retired A380 aircraft in the UAE through upcycling and recycling. Samples of bespoke furniture and aviation collectables made from materials recovered from the retired aircraft will be on display at the Dubai Airshow for pre-orders at Stand 450B.
