SINGAPORE, 14 December 2022: Regent Hotels & Resorts portfolio is making inroads beyond Asia-Pacific as it announces the addition of the Carlton Cannes in France.

The ‘Grande Dame’ of Cannes’, which overlooks the beachfront promenade, La Croisette, will open as Carlton Cannes, a Regent Hotel, in early 2023 following a two-year redevelopment.

Carlton Cannes will join the new era of Regent hotels under the IHG Luxury and Lifestyle Collection that recently opened and upgraded properties across the Asia Pacific.

Regent Phu Quoc opened earlier this year in Vietnam’s tropical island of Phu Quoc, becoming the first new-build Regent to open since IHG acquired the brand.

Two Regent hotels, Regent Chongqing and Regent Shanghai Pudong in China, concluded renovations in 2021. Regent Chongqing is situated in the heart of the Jiangbeizui Central Business District, at the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing rivers. Regent Shanghai Pudong is located in Shanghai’s Lujiazui financial district.

During 2023, Regent Bali Canggu will open its doors, overlooking the Canggu coastline, while the brand will return to Hong Kong at its original location close to Victoria Harbour.

Regent Hong Kong opened in 1980 before rebranding to InterContinental Hong Kong in 2001. The 497-room property will return to its original branding under IHG Hotels & Resorts. Regent Shanghai on The Bund, with 130 rooms, will also open in 2023 once extensive renovations are completed.

IHG will also open Regent branded properties in Kyoto and Kuala Lumpur, complementing existing properties in Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Phu Quoc, Taipei, Porto Montenegro and Berlin.
