MATTA and MAH team up for tourism

KUALA LUMPUR, 15 August 2024: The Malaysian Association of Tour & Travel Agents (MATTA) and the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation and promote growth within the tourism industry.

This strategic partnership will create business opportunities for members of both Associations and contribute significantly to the growth of Malaysia’s tourism industry.

The MoU highlights areas of collaboration between MATTA and MAH, including joint efforts on key projects such as the MATTA Fair, talent development initiatives, and promotional roadshows to support Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026).

Additionally, the partnership will focus on sharing information and initiatives related to sustainable tourism, facilitating member meetings, and supporting each other in national and international tourism events.

MATTA President Nigel Wong expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership: “This collaboration with MAH marks a significant step forward in our efforts to further enhance the Malaysian tourism industry. By working together, we can leverage our collective strengths to create more opportunities and promote sustainable tourism practices.”

Embarking on this partnership with MATTA represents a significant opportunity to elevate the Malaysian tourism industry,” said MAH President Datin Christina Toh. “By aligning our efforts, we can enhance the experiences we offer to both local and international travellers and contribute to the success of initiatives like Visit Malaysia 2026.”
