Sendai is known as an academic city, but it is also famous for its lively festivals and music events, with the annual Sendai Tanabata Festival and the Johzenji Street Jazz Festival attracting thousands of visitors each year. At the Sendai City Museum, visitors can learn about the legendary Date Masamune, known as the “One-Eyed Dragon”, and admire his pure black armour. Travellers can enjoy sightseeing bus tours to explore key attractions such as Osaki Hachimangu Shrine, Aoba Castle and its historic remains.
