Jetstar Asia takes off to Labuan Bajo

SINGAPORE, 24 March 2025: Jetstar Asia has introduced direct flights between Singapore and Labuan Bajo, the first airline to operate a non-stop service between the two destinations.

Flight 3K263 departed Singapore’s Changi Airport at 1400 on 20 March, marking the start of a convenient option for travellers looking to explore the island of Flores, the gateway to Komodo National Park and one of Indonesia’s most picturesque coastal regions.

The Singapore low-cost carrier will operate two flights weekly, on Thursday and Sunday, providing more improved connectivity for travellers from Singapore, including international visitors transiting through Changi and Indonesians looking for direct access to Singapore.

Flight time is three hours and 10 minutes on a 180-seat A320.

Jetstar Asia CEO John Simeone said the airline introduced the new route to strengthen its presence in Indonesia and support regional tourism.

“It’s great to connect Labuan Bajo directly to Singapore, enabling more people to visit one of Indonesia’s most stunning destinations,” Simeone said.

“From exploring the coral reefs and scenic landscapes of Flores to encountering the Komodo dragons, this new service makes Labuan Bajo more accessible than ever, helping to boost tourism while providing a convenient travel option for those looking to explore more of Indonesia.”

Labuan Bajo is Jetstar Asia’s fifth Indonesian destination, joining Denpasar (Bali), Jakarta, Surabaya, and Medan.

Executive Vice President for Air Hub & Cargo Development, Changi Airport Group, Lim Ching Kiat, welcomed Jetstar Asia’s inaugural flight to Labuan Bajo.

“This new route not only boosts Changi’s connectivity to Indonesia, it also strengthens our regional network. With direct connections to 13 Indonesian cities now available from Changi Airport, travellers can explore the unique charm and unparalleled beauty of Labuan Bajo and beyond.”

The Head Officer of Komodo International Airport, Ceppy Triono, warmly welcomed Jetstar Asia’s inaugural flight and emphasised the benefits of the new service.

“Komodo Airport is committed to delivering excellent service, and we are confident that this new route will positively impact Labuan Bajo.”

Rangko Cave: This hidden underground lake with its crystal-clear waters is a surreal and unforgettable experience.

Batu Cermin (Mirror Cave): This cave provides a unique experience with light reflecting off the cave walls.

Sylvia Hill: The best location for impressive sunset views.

Cultural Experiences: Opportunities to engage with the local Manggarai culture, such as visiting Melo Village and witnessing traditional dances, add depth to the travel experience.
