HANOI, 27 March 2025: Vietnam Airlines will resume direct flights between Hanoi and Moscow starting 8 May after a three-year pause, the Vietnam Government Portal reported.
According to the national news agency, the airline will operate two weekly flights, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Based on positive travel demand trends, the frequency should increase to three flights weekly by July 2026. The airline will deploy 787 aircraft on the route for the eight-hour and 55-minute flight, configured with 312 seats (16 business class seats and 16 premium economy class seats).

Flight schedule
VN063 departs Hanoi (HAN) at 1045 and arrives in Moscow (SVO) at 1545 (Tuesday and Thursday).
VNO62 departs Moscow (SVO) at 1740 and arrives in Hanoi (HAN) at 0605 plus a day.
The VGP report noted that Russia has been one of Vietnam’s key markets for tourism and trade. In 2024, travellers between the two countries reached over 220,000, a 2.3-fold increase compared to 2023, representing just 26% of the tourist traffic in 2019 level pre-COVID pandemic. The direct Hanoi-Moscow air route helps strengthen connectivity and facilitate the recovery of the aviation and tourism industries.
This year, Vietnam Airlines also plans to launch or resume 15 international routes to key destinations in Italy, Russia, Denmark, China, India, Japan, South Korea, and the UAE.
To celebrate the relaunch of the Moscow route, Vietnam Airlines is offering special fares, with round-trip fares starting at VND16,419,000 VND (USD643). Passengers can also enjoy a 50% discount on their first prepaid baggage item and 30% off seat selection fees. These promotions apply to flights departing between 8 and 31 May 2025, purchased on the airline’s website, mobile app, ticket offices, and through authorised travel, Vietnam News Agency reported..
